BURRINJUCK DAM CABLE CRANE

The cable crane at Burrinjuck Dam was first used back in 1911, when the foundation of the dam was first laid. Originally, it was steam powered.

RCE Australia was contracted to install a completely new automation and control system on the crane, including safety devices, wireless networks, alignment sensors and wireless controls, bringing the crane’s operating system up to modern standards.

This project also saw RCE complete major structural rehabilitation and additional works to ensure structural integrity was maintained, allowing for the ease of service and maintenance of the crane’s newer components.
